I’m Sophia Ungaro.

Pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am a Philadelphia-based computer graphics artist studying Animation & Visual Effects at Drexel University’s Westphal College of Media Arts and Design. You’ll find my portfolio mostly features 3D modeling, but I also have experience with character rigging and I am currently exploring particle simulations for visual effects. You may know me as @ungvaros on social media, where I share my personal art and explore emerging computer graphics software.

Away from the computer…

Music & Fine Arts

When I’m not at a computer, you can find me wandering around cemeteries and art museums. Historic architecture, sculpture, and fine arts inspire and inform my digital artwork. Long before I discovered the possibilities of computer graphics, I fell in love with oil painting and traditional drawing.

My spare time on-campus is usually spent in a record archive or a broadcast booth. I worked as the Music Director and as a DJ for SCAD Radio and I currently volunteer at Drexel University’s student-run station, 91.7 FM WKDU. I fell in love with music watching Van Halen music video re-runs on MTV, and now my love of music informs the rhythm of my motion media and animation works, allowing me to translate sound into visuals.

Dynamic Industry

I aim to create educational and entertaining content for a modern audience.

I began my undergraduate studies at Savannah College of Art and Design before transferring to Westphal College of Art and Design at Drexel University. My portfolio includes hard surface and organic modeling, rigging, illustration, and motion media work. My sights are set on delving further into character effects simulation next. I am a passionate generalist, eager to explore emerging technologies in computer graphics. I am currently developing a digital series showcasing new 3D modeling tools and computer graphics software, which you can find on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
